Why Love Remains the Greatest Creative Force

If someone asked me what inspires my work, they might expect me to talk about color.
Or texture.
Or symbolism.
Or technique.
Those things matter.
But none of them come first.
Before every brushstroke...
Before every idea...
Before every painting...
There is love.
Love Is the Beginning of Every Creation
The very first work of art wasn't painted on canvas.
It was creation itself.
The stars.
The oceans.
The mountains.
The human imagination.
Everything beautiful begins because something—or Someone—first chose to create.
I've often thought that creating art is one of the quietest ways we reflect that gift.
Every time an artist begins with a blank canvas, they're choosing hope over fear.
Possibility over certainty.
Creation over emptiness.
Love Sees What Others Miss
An artist learns to notice things.
The way sunlight changes a wall.
The expression on someone's face before they smile.
The beauty in weathered wood.
The poetry hidden inside ordinary moments.
Love works the same way.
It notices what others overlook.
It finds value where others see imperfections.
It recognizes beauty before the rest of the world catches up.
Perhaps that's why love and creativity have always walked together.
Every Painting Is an Act of Faith
No artist truly knows how a painting will end.
You simply begin.
You trust the process.
You accept uncertainty.
You keep going.
Love asks the same thing of us.
It invites us to invest in something we cannot fully predict, believing that what grows from sincerity will be worthwhile.
Whether on a canvas or in life, the first step is always an act of faith.
We Leave Pieces of Ourselves Behind
I believe every artist leaves a small part of themselves inside every painting.
Not intentionally.
It simply happens.
Our experiences.
Our questions.
Our gratitude.
Our wonder.
Even years later, I can look at an older painting and remember who I was when I created it.
Art quietly preserves pieces of our lives.
Perhaps that's one reason original artwork feels so personal.
It carries evidence that another human being cared enough to create it.
Love Creates Connection
One of the greatest joys of being an artist is realizing that a painting eventually belongs to someone else's story.
A collector hangs it in their home.
A family gathers beneath it.
Children grow up seeing it every day.
Conversations begin because of it.
Long after I'm gone, the painting may still be quietly doing what it was created to do.
Bring people together.
That thought fills me with gratitude.
The Greatest Masterpiece
People sometimes ask what my favorite painting is.
The honest answer is...
I hope it's the next one.
Because every blank canvas is another opportunity to create something that didn't exist yesterday.
Another opportunity to encourage someone.
Another opportunity to make a stranger pause.
Another opportunity to remind someone that beauty still exists.
That's worth showing up for.
Every single day.
Love Never Stops Creating
The world can sometimes feel divided.
Busy.
Noisy.
Uncertain.
Art has never solved every problem.
But it has always reminded us that humanity is capable of extraordinary things.
A poem.
A melody.
A sculpture.
A painting.
An act of kindness.
A helping hand.
A quiet prayer.
Every one of them begins in the same place.
Love.
If there's one hope I have for my work, it's not simply that people remember the paintings.
It's that, for a moment, they remember what inspired them.
Because long after trends fade and styles evolve, I believe one truth remains unchanged.
Love is still the greatest creative force the world has ever known.
And I hope every painting I create carries a small reminder of that truth.
